Master’s Advisory Committee
Initially, the department will assign the GPC as the students’ Academic Advisor and primary point of contact. Once the student develops specific educational goals and identifies a graduate faculty member in the department to serve as their academic mentor, the mentor and the student will work together to form the Master’s Advisory Committee. Under normal circumstances, the student’s Academic Advisor will serve as Chair of the Master’s Advisory Committee. The Master’s Advisory Committee also serves as the Examining Committee of the student’s Final Oral/Written Examination. A formal request to form the committee must be filed electronically before the Plan of Study form is submitted to the department. (See Graduate School Forms and Manuals Library for the GS2 – Graduate Advisory Committee Requests).
