Luxury Travel Consultant Brings Insights to Hospitality Management

Jim Strong, Strong Travel Services

University of Mississippi Alumnus Jim Strong of Strong Travel Services shared his first-hand experiences in the luxury travel industry during a recent visit with students taking Introduction to Hospitality Management.

One of America’s leading luxury travel consultants, Strong is the president of Strong Travel Services in Dallas, Texas. He travels extensively throughout the world, selecting and vetting unique hotels, villas and destinations for his clients. Jim is a travel app developer and author of two luxury travel books.

He is a Certified Travel Counselor and an Accredited Cruise Counselor. Jim serves on the advisory boards of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Ritz Carlton Hotels, Rosewood Hotels, Travel + Leisure Magazine as well as many other luxury travel organizations. Strong Travel is a member of Virtuoso, the world’s premier leisure travel association.

“Jim has been a faithful supporter of our program over the years, and his son, James, graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in hospitality management,” said Candis Varnell, lecturer in hospitality management.

James joined Strong Travel in 2006 as a travel coordinator with experience from internships around the world.
